I am prone to changing my mind a lot and am threatened by putting things in writing.  Putting things in writing exposes me to countless critiques and provides ready fuel for competitors.  

Though I often fail to do this, I recommend extensively consulting and coordinating with peers, stakeholders, disinterested parties, and at least one motivated critic or enemy before exposing or publishing a document.
