Things are not always as they seem. I learned the hard way that experience is to be respected. Technicians may not have much formal education but they know what they have experienced. Things that are seemingly unrelated often times can (and do) interfere with the proper order of things.
Accurately defining systems and processes helps expose these problem causing quirks. I have had specialized training in process mapping and cause mapping which I apply to help solve or prevent problems.
