Award Winning Operations Management

The highlight of my operational experience was being Chief of Operations at Altus Air Force Base.  Robert Stephenson, Deputy chief of Operations, helped me to lead a group of people (nearly devastated by a reduction in force) to help Altus Air Force Base achieve the Air Force Installation Excellence Award in 1992.  Total Quality Management played a valuable role.  We did it simply by building from strength.  

Many of our people received medals for constructing a large secured vehicle storage area including classified fill, storm drainage, asphalt, striping, lighting and security fence.  Conversion of the formerly unusable site was completed in less than 3-weeks and well within the budget.  Their accomplishment contributed to my award of the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal.
