Trainer/Facilitator

I adopted my style for training and facilitating from two very effective people, William H. Mashburn, PE and the late Ernie E. Choat, PE  Though my approach is slightly different, I am mastering the art of asking provocative, disarming questions.  Guiding people to discover the truth seems much more effective than trying to force it upon them.

I once had a room full of senior managers from foreign countries sitting in a computer lab to learn how to use a new software application.  Most of them initially sat with their arms crossed unwilling to touch the keyboards.  I disarmed them by asking many dumb questions and prompted them to discuss how difficult it was to get good information to make decisions.  One-by-one I showed them over-the-shoulder that they had ready access to such information.  And one-by-one they perked up like kids with a new toy.

I am prepared to provide learning experiences in many areas including those listed below:

Capabilities

  • Root Cause Analysis

  • Professional Supervision

  • Employee Recognition

  • Communication/Team Building

  • Project Management

  • Facility Safety Orientation

  • Electrical Safety Standards

  • Total Quality Leadership

  • Multi-discipline Brainstorming

  • Job Task Analyses

  • Job Hazard Analysis

  • Energy Management

  • Using Quality Improvement Tools

I can prepare custom materials and experiences to suit training needs.
