Compliance

The idea of compliance is a parent-child approach to business.  It may work in child daycare businesses but this approach has a negative influence on professional business relationships.  When I managed compliance activities for over 30 locations, I often got complaints that the reports took several workdays a month to complete—they missed the point!  If they were managing the business responsibly, they could report on it as easily as preparing a purchase request.  Once benefits were thoroughly communicated, the cost of preparing the compliance reports paled in terms of the benefits.

Let me help establish business links that make OSHA and environmental responsibilities natural and normal aspects of business.  Business thrives best when it naturally operates legally.  Most customers do not accept legalized theft nor do they accept pollution, crippling injuries or death as a cost of doing business.  Employees are looking for security and are reluctant to share responsibility for unnecessary losses.  If the goal is only compliance, valuable opportunities to be leaders in business are lost.

Key Benefits

  • Employee pride and acceptance of job related responsibilities

  • Good posture for responses to public inquiries or criticisms

Capabilities

Noncompliance can become very serious and expensive but in many cases even statutory compliance may fall short of what is best for business operations.  I can help  organizations focus positively on business success rather than negatively on compliance issues.  Protecting workers and being a good steward of the environment will always be good for the future of the business.  Failure to comply can mean a rapid change in management and decline in business value.

I offer...

  • Confidentiality on "What if?" Inquiries

  • Assistance in Obtaining Services of Experts

  • Assistance in Training of In-house Staff to Manage Compliance Issues

  • Experience with OSHA Compliance Issues

  • Experience with EPA-TNRCC Air Emissions Compliance Issues
